New Year seems to be a time of hope and promise. We all hope that it will be a better year than last and we all promise or make resolutions to try to do better. The first week of January was that kind of week for Diamonds in the Ruff volunteers. Puppies were pulled from ditches, neglected and starving dogs got a full belly and a makeover, abandoned dogs were removed from their chains for the first… time in ages, and broken bones were set on a path to recovery. It seemed that
Ask the volunteer who went to save these sweet puppies and she will tell you the effort is well worth it when you see these dear faces and know they are now safe. We received a call yesterday from the daughter of a man who was walking near the ditch pictured here when his dog found an abandoned litter of puppies near the culvert. They are very small, weighing less than 3 pounds and maybe about 7 weeks old. They have been bathed, have eaten some good meals, and were dewormed.
